Aow Leuk, on the East side of Koh Tao, is a wide shallow bay with a sandy bottom stretching in between each coastline. The bay boasts many different corals, a Giant Clam nursery and Juvenile Black Tip Reef Sharks to name but a few of the highlights of this dive site. The huge Compact Coral heads are impressive and provide shelter for Harlequin Sweetlips, Blue-Spotted Rays and Squirrelfish. Sitting on the corals or rumaging in the sand you will find Bar-Tailed Goatfish, normally accompanied by Red-Breasted Splendour Wrasse. Being a sheltered bay, Aow Leuk is ideal for snorkelers, Discover Scuba Diving, training dives and also for underwater photopraphers. On the outer edges of Aow Leuk, we have a further two dive sites, Hin Ngam and King Kong. Hin Ngam consists of 3 pinnacles just off the coastline, where we find a variety of different types of shrimps, Porcupine Pufferfish, Scorpionfish, Janns Pipefish, White-Eyed Moray Eels and if we are lucky, a Jenkins Ray. King Kong offers a mixture of large coral heads and a multitude of whip corals at its deeper depths, and many hiding places in the shallows for Pufferfish, Sweepers, Parrotfish and Cardinalfish amongst the granite boulders. Our favourites here are the Coral Shrimpfish and a Pacific Lionfish.
